OUR STORY
On our near-acre of paradise, the gardener is maintaining the wonderful landscaping and the fruit trees he nurtured for the former owners at a very affordable cost for us and a very fair wage for him. In addition to the beautiful flowers - the wild orchids and bougainvillea are quite amazing - and lush colorful vegetation, we have banana, apple banana, cashew, mango, peppers, papaya and - we're told - shrimp and crab in the brook that runs along our property line. For our taste the weather is just about perfect at about 2,000' above sea level. It was pretty amazing to buy a house without a heating system or air conditioning. Our home is on an east-facing Pacific shoreline near Punta Chame. From our rear veranda, we see spectacular sunrises over the Pacific. The sun sets over the mountains in front of our house with a unique effect. It’s almost like a second sunrise, because the clouds in the eastern sky light up again at sunset in rose and pink pastels. I suppose that it¹s caused by the mountains shielding the lower part of eastern sky from the golden beams of the setting sun. We may never leave! We¹ve fallen in love with this place and with each other even more.
